BIO | EXAMPLES OF WORK
Geoff Williams is an artist of tremendous talent, his perception of the natural beauty and pure simplicity in art is quite unique together with methods and the application he applies.
A realist artist, he has been painting full-time for over nine years, and while hi style has changed very little, his technique has improved and the scale of his vision increased.
Each work begins with a fine detailed preliminary pencil sketch, an artwork in its own right, the ensuing painting is then developed using the time consuming method of crosshatching. This allows for the reflection of the contrasting lights and colour to produce an illumines effect. So exacting is his method it can take up to six weeks to produce just one work, working an eight hour day.
Geoff started out his career as a sign-writer and screen-printer in Dunedin (where he & his family still reside), trained by his father. His work depicts the common place, the humble seagull, his mate's truck or boats, with variations from nudes to the MacKenzie Country, plus many variations of fruits and vegetables.
The work of Geoff Williams has continued to be in constant demand with the requests greater than his ability to produce, many astute buyers purchasing in multiples. With such a demand, the investment potential of his work continues at an amazing pace.
His work is to be found represented in private collections in Switzerland, Canada, Australia, London, Japan, Germany, America and throughout New Zealand.
