BIO | EXAMPLES OF WORK

Born in 1961, Jan Ingram was educated at Queens High School in Dunedin' before attending the Otago Polytechnic School of Fine Art' majoring in ceramics - graduating in 1982.

In 1983, Jan achieved the highest award for 'Domestic Ware' in the NZ Certificate of ceramics - also at the Otago Polyechnic School of Fine Art.

She then went on to be Assistant Curator at Otago Museum, working with the ceramic and glass collection until 1988, when she started painting part time in oils & gouache.

From 1990 - 2001 she became the display artist and Assistant Curator at the Otago Medical School's Alumnus Association. 

Since her first solo exhibition in 1995, Jan has achieved a number of awards including:
1997 - Otago Arts Society Pledger Award
1998 - Hope & Sons Sponsors Award
1998 - Guest Artist at Balclutha Art Society
1998 & 2001 - Otago Art Society Lula Currie Award (selected by artist members) - Hope & Sons 2000 - Exhibition - third prize
2000 - Mica Award - Macandrew Intermediate Auction
2001 - Art Zone Award - Otago Art Society Spring Exhibition

Jan's work is now in many private & corporate collection's nationwide.
