BIO | EXAMPLES OF WORK

Born in Dunedin and educated at Waitaki Girls' High School, Karen Pringle attended Teachers Training College in Dunedin majoring in Art. In 1985 she completed her Bachelor of Education and subsequently moved to Invercargill working as a primary school teacher.

With the arrival of three daughters she now tutors adult painting classes (part time) and paints from her home-based studio.

Pringle's first exhibition in October 1999 was followed by other successful exhibitions. In April 2000 she was the winner of the Telecom Arts Awards for the Southland region. In August 2001 she won a Merit Award at the ILT Awards and in October of the same year won another Merit Award at the Spring Exhibition at Anderson's Park Art Gallery.

Her work now sells nationally via her art dealers in both Dunedin and Wellington.
