Biography

Yumi Mclean is a Japanese-born ceramic artist based in North Canterbury.

Since moving to New Zealand in 2022,she has focused on hand-built sculptural works depicting everyday objects from both New Zealand and Japan.

Her sculptures often evoke a sense of nostalgia, inviting viewers to reflect on familiar moments from daily life.

Yumi has received awards at local shows and has been a finalist in several ceramic exhibitions.

Through her work, she continues to offer small surprises and quiet moments of joy to her audience.
